I love that the ports are automatic POE (Power Over Ethernet) so if it needs power, it gets it.
Not recommended if this is your only Unifi piece of equipment as you will have to run the unifi software just for it.
When I first started using the Unifi system it was a little bit of a learning curve, but now that I'm with the system I love it.What keeps me with the Unifi system besides the management is the commercial quality.
Great if you're using AP and IP Cameras in your home.Things I Learned after buying: it's a 16 port Switch, but you will be using one (always the first port) to provide the system with the internet to send out to all the wires/devices.
It's a great switch.
After reaching out to their customer service I was informed that "nothing can be done because there is a 30-day warranty"this of course has me livid to no end - this is a 5star product listed here and the one I receive is so broken it won't even turn on with first use and there is nothing that the seller will do to uphold that 5star service and product?
It does support Active POE+.It does not support Ubiquiti passive poe for devices it is recommended for.Ubiquiti fails to respond to requests to replace with a working unit.Do NOT buy this until it is fixed.
It’s not your cabling, it’s not your Apple device, you don’t want a dongle to band aid the issue, you just want to use the switch and it won’t work till they fix this model.
I bought this switch to replace the 8-port POE version of this switch (UniFi Switch 8 POE-150W) and I had 2 devices that immediately would not work.
It wasn't until after I ran into these issues that I discovered through the forums, that Ubiquiti has been having POE issues with the 16 port switch (UniFi Switch 16 POE-150W) since 2017 and still has not addressed it.
