I would've added the crust or topped it with biscuits but this was an experiment and I didn't want to butcher this meal.So I added two cans of peas and carrots and two cans of cream of chicken soup.
That was a little oops moment because there was chunks of chicken but honestly you couldn't tell the difference.I blended rice with this because it's the way my stepmother always made the family's pot pie and I've eaten my pot pies this way ever since.Since it's just me I was able to get more than 5 days out of this but I invited my brother-in-law to be the guinea pig to try this.
The only thing I will say is you do not get 14 ounces of meat (it’s likely about 2/3 to ¾ meat), so adjust when planning.
I recently used this can of turkey and I was amazed as how flaky and tender this meat is.
I have had grocery store brands that are tough and hard to use, and so this product was a surprise in that it heated up easily and was easy to eat and very good flavor.
I am giving this one star as when weighing the food within the can it was about 5.5 oz short of the weight listed.
The taste was meh, but I wasn't expecting much from canned turkey.
It's survival food and it tastes like it.
If my eyes were closed, I don't think I could identify it as turkey.
Read up on line about dented cans and these fit the description needing to be thrown away!!
