Had this installed for little over a month.Pros: YouTube videos while driving, EQ is excellent, screen quality is very good for price, backup camera is a nice add on, the plug n play cords are worth more than you expect, add apps as needed from the play store, hidden menu allows you to really see what this thing can do.Cons: the turn signal/door ajar speaker is horrid- just don't use it, the phone connection could be better, screen is highly reflective, instructions on installing are a nightmare, just use the top of the radio to see what all plugs are and where they need to go, start up could be faster but you get what you pay for.Overall this is a great radio for the money.
GPS is a joke unless you buy the map software, which costs around $70, google maps works ok but you have to pre download the maps unless you have a hotspot on your phone, and google deletes your map saves if you don't update them all of the time.Netflix and HULU Apps work, but they are the older versions that don't allow you to download the episodes to watch while not on data, and after trying to download the updates, the apps would not load.Overall this unit is about what I would expect for $270, and I am mostly happy with the purchase.
Compared to what was in there, this radio sounds amazing and adds bluetooth and better navigation choices over the stock unit for much less than most other options. In my application, I was able to avoid hooking up the chime speaker - I tried it and it sounded horrible as others have complained about, but found if not used the sound for the key reminder, blinker and whatever else, would just come through the front speakers as it did with the stock radio.
There is a ton of cables that can be a bit tricky to cram into a crevice in the dash, but it's not too bad.I like that I can connect it to my mobile hotspot and stream music or videos as I am in my truck a lot for work.
It will not connect correctly if you use your phoneSecond, the sound quality -- it took me awhile to figure out that in the equalizer there is a LOUDNESS button... basically sounds regular if this is turned on - if not it sounds like crap.My only complaint at this point is that I can not have a speed dial for my contacts... or how to add direct dial icons on the main screen... or have favorites in the phone book... and I am really on the fence about deducting a star for this because It is a big deal and seems soooo basic that a calling device should have this first...But alas I love the stereo sooo much and at this price it is great so I will not dock them a starGREAT JOB EoNON!!
I feel as though that is one of the main features and there isn't even a way to get my money back.
Installed it and there is no sound.
NO ANSWER...I have waited long enough and even put the original radio back in and works fine; re install the Eonon unit and NOTHING.Lost a sale and lost professional rep dealing with this company. This " NO SOUND" problem after an internet search is not unique; appears to be a chronic problem with Eonon units.09/20/2017 UPDATE:I was just informed by EONON they have discontinued this item so they can not or will not provide a replacement; still dealing with the after many weeks.. Its not listed on the tested vehicles but it works in 2011 Tahoe!
I have way too much music on it for it to just sit there.
The head unit is just ok,Cons;- the dash cam app/function doesn’t have audio- the apps that typically have offline features in handheld devises, don’t with this version of Android- can’t find a maps download from Eonon as indicated by their website- google’s offline maps don’t have enough detail to function and I haven’t found an app on th store that does without data- steering wheel fictions are featured as customizable but the Apps don’t recognize the changes, pulse the default forward and back are inverted- the unit’s volume is low... at over 2/3 volume can still be drown out by having a window down on the highway- Rear usb inputs won’t act as aux for phone but are powered- Bluetooth audio is out of phase with video (wouldn’t have to use it if apps OS allowed offline content)Pros- looks factory- plug-n-play for all connections- plenty of cable length for routing aux/usb connections.
