I cannot use my TV remote to control the soundbar volume.
Not a big deal, but would be a nice upgrade if the app allowed switching the source back to TV (or other inputs used).I also tried sound bars from Yamaha and Sony, and I was not satisfied with the TV dialogue. For me, easy to hear dialogue and great sounding music in a small form factor is the low hanging fruit.
I haven't used the App for any other speakers than the sound bar, but with a little patience, once I set it up the first time, it works well for streaming to the sound bar.
The sound quality is better and like that you can control the center with the remote. Many have commented on not being able to use their Xfinity remote with the sound bar.
I'll link the Def Tech video that shows you exactly how to do it but if it doesn't come through, just hit up YouTube and find Definitive Technology page or search for program definitive technology w studio sound bar.Look, I don't know... all sound bars these days may be able to do this.
The audio on this unit is lackluster at best and if it were not for the sub (the one good thing) I would think I was just listening to the regular TV with the volume cranked.
We pointed out that nowhere in any of the literature or Def Tech's web site was there any indication of a minimum requirement for the wireless router that was going to be connected with their sound bar.
Once we did this, that was the end of our connectivity and start-up issues.Okay!
We are not in the business of evaluating and testing all of them, so you are on your own for finding something that doesn't require an expert technologist to make work the way its manufacturer says.Let the buyer beware.
I used this soundbar for a little under a month and it was great, but... the soundbar itself just stopped working while I was using it.
