My computer doesn't have 2 usb ports next to each other, so for the one that can't be plugged into the computer I use my portable power bank (usually I use it for charging my iPhone on the go) and it's worked out just fine for me.
I also got the 2 year warranty just in case, but after the first few days of using it I haven't had any hiccups with this product at all.
Just to be clear, this DVD drive does not work directly with any TV or Android box, you will need to connect it to a computer to use it.
Bought in 2011, and it's still going strong, despite banging around in my work bag for the past 6 years.Seems compatible with every machine I've used it on... the only tricky part can sometimes be finding two USB ports close enough together (laptops) for the two connectors on the Y cable, but I generally have a usb extension with my anyway, so not a big deal.Great product!
For those of you having problems, You have to plug it in with both usb's on the included cable into the back of your pc case.
I was able to upload music from CD's with no problem.
It burned enough to make the CD useless afterwards, but not enough that I could play music on it.
Got this like 15days back and my Windows 10 Asus netbook was able to recognize only once so far and now it fails to connect..When plug to USB getting error 'The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it.
I enjoyed the book, like the last reviewer I finished it in 2 day.
It very literally worked once.
