What are fans saying?
This unit is perfect for my needs and I know I can rely on Amazon and their retailers for good service.
I have had APC units for 15+ years and they have saved my electronics several times.
It's not a bad backup but we've had to replace the battery at least twice over the years for each one and they aren't cheap at all!
The battery is brand new and the unit works just fine when the power is on but when it goes out the battery just doesn't kick in.
I live on the outskirts of a city, and the power can get kinda dirty, with voltages fluctuating around from time to time, and the only way I know it's doing it's job is that I hear an audible click from it, and then the buzzing noise of power being pulled from the battery.
What are haters saying?
When you have 4 of these throughout the house, and the power goes out, that's 16 beeps every 30 seconds.
When you start going crazy from all that beeping and download the manual to make it all stop, you will find out you have to install Powerchute personal to disable the alarms (because having a mute button like every other UPS is asking too much).
I'm not buying any more batteries for it but dumping it in the garbage with a recycler..
Great product but you definitely want to remove that annoying beeper/alarm that goes off every 6 months telling you the battery (that you never use) is no good and needs to be replaced.I ended up taking this apart and removing the beeper off of the motherboard.
Unit quit working after only 1 year.New battery made no difference.Customer service, if that is what it could be called, is mediocre.eMails go unanswered.Very unhappy with APC.
