Review for APC Back-UPS 600VA UPS Battery Backup & Surge Protector with USB Charging Port (BE600M1).I have been using the product for 3 months now with my desktop computer, and it's done well.
The battery life is not as long as I'd like it to be but I purchased it based on protection needed and the price.
This arrived in 1 day, and I am not a Prime customer, so impressed there.I have used APC units in the past, so was hopeful this one would be just what I needed, and it is!
I have had one for more than a year and works great for my modem and router.
What are haters saying?
This UPS back up was to be used at my work.
It worked for 13 months and then died overnight: trying to turn it on, the result is that the alarm is on with a constant tone and the UPS is off.I read and followed the instructions on APC's site called "What are the basic troubleshooting steps for the Back-UPS ES model BE600M1, BN650M1/BN650M1-CA/BN675M1", but no luck (like countless others on the net.
!Additionally, other gear is connected through the pass-through outlets, but I'm not expecting this to affect the UPS, since I have a 15 year old APC surge protector (not UPS, but still) that allows me to connect exactly the same devices in the same configuration as in the UPS, without issue (still working).I'll reach out to APC and see what happens.
At the time, my tower PC and router were plugged into battery backup outlets and an Ethernet switch was plugged into a regular outlet. If I try to turn it on, the light on the power button flashed green for about 10 seconds and then the unit just shut off and the alarm sounds.I've tried unplugging it, pulling the battery and plugging it in overnight unpowered.
I know apc is one of the best brands making ups but this is the first one o buy from them and after 5 days of use it just stop working.
