Here are 4 things to know before you buy a consumer electronics: IPhone, Tensor processing unit, Glass, and IPad. Make sure you read our 2020 official guide on how to purchase a consumer electronics if you don't know anything about consumer electronics!

It could feel overwhelming to look at all the products if you haven't purchased consumer electronics yourself, or haven't had it at all. This is why we gathered some information for you so you can be more confident before buying a consumer electronics.

Things You Should Know

If you have some exposure to consumer electronics or related types of products, you might already know what some of the words mean. But we don't want to assume that you know and make you struggle while reading product descriptions. Here are the 4 words you need to know:

  • IPhone: The iPhone is a line of touchscreen-based smartphones designed and marketed by Apple Inc. All generations of the iPhone use Apple's iOS mobile operating system software.
  • Tensor processing unit (TPU): A tensor processing unit is an AI accelerator application-specific integrated circuit developed by Google specifically for neural network machine learning, particularly using Google's own TensorFlow software. Google began using TPUs internally in 2015, and in 2018 made them available for third party use, both as part of its cloud infrastructure and by offering a smaller version of the chip for sale.
  • Glass: Glass is a non-crystalline, often transparent amorphous solid, that has widespread practical, technological, and decorative use in, for example, window panes, tableware, and optics. Glass is most often formed by rapid cooling of the molten form; some glasses such as volcanic glass are naturally occurring.
  • IPad: iPad is a line of tablet computers designed, developed and marketed by Apple Inc., which run the iOS and iPadOS mobile operating systems. The first iPad was released on April 3, 2010; the most recent iPad models are the seventh-generation iPad, released on September 25, 2019; the fifth-generation iPad mini, released on March 18, 2019; the third-generation iPad Air, released on March 18, 2019; and the second-generation 11-inch and fourth-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro, released on March 25, 2020.

Appropriate Price Range

Consumer electronics are normally priced in the range of$6.84 - $758.97 per item. So if a consumer electronics's price is outside of this range, you should question if the product is actually sold, or the price is worth it.
